I have it installed and running nicely.

I suspect that the *major* installation problems you detect are not
what they seem.

I did a clean install to a spare disk, which went very smoothly

an upgrade from Tiger, which was okay, but flaky (too many system
tweakers running on the original tiger install)

and have just completed a fresh install and manual migration of data.

all in all it was much smoother than my several abortive attempts to
install Vista, which I have yet to see running...

lots of very nice new tweaks in Leopard and it all runs faster now
it's using all four of my cores!

;o)

(FWIW I have Fireworks CS3 and that's running much faster - can't
really blame Apple for Adobe's sluggishness, Microsoft office for Mac
is going to be 2008)
