Re: FN-FORUM: Succesful ways to advertise - that don't cost much!

As I see it I have a great service for design companies to offer =20
their clients in tandem with their 'usual' skill set, particularly on =20=
branding/rebranding projects. I have worked this way before with =20
varying success. The success comes from working with designers who =20
understand what I do, and admit they can't do it themselves =96 =20
generally they are very good at something else that I couldn't =20
contemplate.
I also work direct with clients. I tend to find they appreciate what =20
I deliver more than most other designers do though; I suppose this is =20=
because they directly understand how the work meets their own =20
business needs. Admittedly this is often because they are so =20
engrossed in their little area of expertise =96 I know how they feel! =20=
Clients I have worked with in the past vary from a local council all =20
the way up to the likes of Vodafone and Powergen =96 I tend to find =20
there is scope for what I do in almost any organisation.
So in answer to the question, both. The most important thing for me =20
is to do interesting work, wherever it comes from.
