RE: FN-FORUM: osCommerce and Lightbox

date posted 6th November 2007 17:10

Hi Carrie, Steve,

Thanks for this - the effects that Steve mentioned were very similar to the
ones I was getting. I put on the STS Template system, so that I could modify
the code from template.html; this worked OK. However, when I put the links
to the 3 js files, and 1 to the css file, this either showed images at the
bottom of the screen, or just showed the same popup box as before. I tried
this on both the normal index.php file which comes in the root folder of any
osCommerce install (i.e. \catalog), as well as the template file, but I did
not have any joy with either.

I have not had any opportunity to put the site I have been working up yet; I
have been working on a XAMPP based environment as a test, and will be
putting something up very shortly. However, for the purposes of this,
imagine that you have a clean install of osCommerce, with the STS template
system installed - I have not changed anything else. I pretty much put the
css and js file links on the product_info.php page, along with 'removing'
(read commenting out) the original code for popups, and replacing it with
the new code for Lightbox popups. I will take another look again tonight, as
I got so confused last time, and will let you know what happens - hopefully
along with a URL if I am still having a problem!

Thanks for helping - it is appreciated!

Alex.

Hi Alex sorry for the digression.

I inplemeted lightbox2 for a site recently and was terribly confused for
about 4 hours.

Check that the css files are accessible from your template as I had stuff
appearing at the bottom of the page - I had mistyped a url for the css file,
but it looked too similar to the correct one(I am a bit
dyslexic) an so I did't spot it for ages.

Also make sure that it can see the javascript too.

Firefox extensions should be a help here as you can easily follow the
javascript. And check that the CSS is being loaded.

HTH

Carrie
