In my experience I have seen .co.uk sites hosted=20
in Germany being ignored in Google UK only=20
listings so believe this to be true.
DNS records can be used to determine the=20
geographical location of the server from which a=20
site is being served and presumably this=20
information is then used to help filter search=20
results.
