ASP.NET renders different code for different browsers, maybe Philip is
viewing code in one browser, and Tony in another?
I think there exists something called up-level browsers, Microsoft,
rather stupidly, class most browsers other than IE as down-level
browsers (I hope I have the up-down level terminology right, no doubt
I will stand corrected if I haven't!)
It's one of a few annoying points of ASP.NET, out of the box, it will
render certain controls using tables, others using simpler HTML. I
find it quite unbeleivable that ASP.NET would render out a file called
spacer.gif, and place the images in the images directory (however,
this is MS, so maybe not quite so unbelievable)
You can 'turn off' ASP.NET's features so that it renders the same code
for (for example) in firefox, as it does IE, I think it is in
machine.config. Can't remember how to do this of the top of my head,
but Googling should turn up some results.
Hope this helps!
Ciaron.
