You should indeed chase it.

First off have you sent a stern letter saying you will be forced to pursue
legal means to recover the debt if he does not pay within 7 days. Mention
that this could severely affect his credit rating. Mention also that costs
will be added to the debt.

Phone him every day, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Visit him if he is nearby and ask for the money - cash!! Or even send
aforementioned ASBO round to see him. Nothing like a belligerent hoodie in
your reception or on your front door to get you motivated.

Do you have proof of debt, otherwise it is his word against yours. Send him
a copy.=20

Before embarking on formal routes try everything else as you will start to
incur more costs which you may or may not get back.

Does he have a wife and children..... mwohahaha
