Lorna,
If yr creating banners for major networks like Dart or eyeblaster etc
the fall back gif is usually the final frame or max 5 key frames from
the ani.
Try outputting the gif from flash then taking it into imageready and
dropping out the frames you don't need. You will also be able to control
output quality to hit yr filesize then

Is it possible to get an animated gif file the same size as swf file.
Without losing picture quality and animation or do I have to do a gif
file=20
in a block formation.
My challenge is to get the swf to 33k or below (which was the easy
part),=20
but I also have to have the gif version the same size.
Any tips gratefully accepted.
