Hi Claire,
Yes all our hosting packages support PHP. Windows support PHP4 & PHP5
and Linux supports PHP5, you can see a comparison of the features
available on the seperate Windows or Linux offerings on this page.
http://www.servwise.com/en-gb/choose-platform.php just scroll down to
see the comparison tables.
Owning a domain does not give you free email accounts, it simply allows
you to use that domain with an email hosting provider to receive emails
at that domain. Many places (Us included) offer free email forwarding
when you purchase a domain but that only allows you to redirect email
from your purchased domain to another email mailbox like for example a
gmail account.
If you want to provide proper email services then you need a hosting
account with some form of email capability (Almost all hosting these
days come with at least a few mailboxes).
There is no reason that you need to use the same hosting provider for
your web hosting and email hosting, many larger business will have
in-house email servers like MS exchange and so it is quite possible to
point email to your domain to another email server other than your web
hosts. It is however more complicated than letting your web host set-up
your email system for you. For example when purchasing hosting from us
with a domain, your domain will be automatically configured to work with
our email infrastructure and so there is no need to change anything for
email to function other than to create the email accounts that you need
from within our control panels.
Hope that answers your questions.
