So I take it you have not looked at the likes of Comodo, then Dom - its
InstantSSL Pro Certificate weighs in at 57 quid for 1 year's security, with
discounts if booked for more than 1 year in advance?
I think these guys have their corporate head office in the USA, with
regional offices in the UK and India. Strange that they say *they* are the
second largest Certificate Authority, with certificates accepted by 99.3% of
browsers worldwide?
Check out http://www.comodo.com/corporate/, or www.instantssl.com...
It does not matter to me where the certificate comes from, but if this one
is valid for a normal e-commerce site, and can even be bought for 80 dollars
from their US site, then this one is a no-brainer. Assuming the price that
Andrew quoted was ex VAT, it still comes in as less...
Alex.

http://www.geotrust.com/buy/certificate_compare.asp
says 249 dollars for the first year for the cheapest.
Clearly these certificates are hewn from the finest North American binary
digits, whereas Sam's certificates are made from cheap shoddy Chinese
knock-off binary digits.
But we're still buying from Sam's company, and we'll be a couple of hundred
quid better off for it.
Does any end user actually care where the certificate is from?
Does anybody ever notice, as long as it works?
