Sam's offering a RapidSSL cert for eight quid. RapidSSL's own website
lists them for 69 dollars. I think I'll buy off Sam, thankyou very much.
I also expect that Sam's support is a hell of a lot better than anything I'd
get from rapidssl.com!
The whole business is a rip-off AFAIAC [1]. Why on earth should a string of
digits that's valid for wildcard subdomains be vastly more expensive than
a string of digits that only authenticates one subdomain? Why should
extending the expiry date cost so much? It's just a number!
And whose bright idea was it to mix up encryption with authentication, eh?
