Fresh air!

Exercise will wake you up. If you think that we are basically animals
much more used (in the evolutionary sense) to wandering around
searching for food, or running after our dinner, or fighting off
predators, it's no wonder that we find sitting down for hours a bit
wearying some times!

Sadly it's not easy to recreate a cave person's lifestyle, but perhaps
a jog in the morning or a gym visit after work will stimulate your
system.

Also caffeine may be part of the problem. You shouldn't need any
caffeine at all. Maybe after lunch, when the effort of digesting food
can make us feel sleepy, a cup of coffee can counter this effect.

Too much caffeine does not help energy levels - just creates an
artificial energy boost.

I read that the wonderful writer (!) Dan Brown works on the basis of
writing for half an hour, then going on a treadmill for fifteen
minutes, then writing for half an hour and so on. That way he can
maintain high concentration levels.

You can only really concentrate solidly for about an hour at a time,
so stopping once an hour to get up and do something different is a
great idea, especially if it gets your heart pounding!

Some people think that if they're tired, exercise is the last thing
they need. The opposite is true. Exercise boosts energy levels and
improves stamina. Also releaves stress and helps you relax.

Hope that helps!
