RE: FN-FORUM: help

No i was suggesting that long-term -both from a personal development, =
and financial point of view- that she might be advantaged by learning to =
program dynamic websites, as this would solve such problems in future =
whilst also commanding her a greater income. Pam has to date been keen =
to learn from the experience of others on this forum, and thus i am sure =
she will see the benefits of what i say.

My comment regarding PHP was clearly marked with a smilie indicating my =
preference for .Net over PHP, whilst also clearly pointing out that this =
was a personal and tongue-in-cheek comment!

My follow up comment about it sparking off a debate was also =
tongue-in-cheek to the fact that it didn=E2=80=99t surprise me that some =
highly strung people would take this as a personal attack on them and =
their choice of preferred programming language. Such people really need =
to take a step back and relax. Perhaps their daily struggles with PHP =
are proving my point, and is being manifested as anger, to the extent of =
starting off such defence mechanism that inspire them to send these =
'debate' emails to the forum!

Apart from ignoring you, what other reaction could there be? Many
(most?) developers on this list have chosen to use PHP. Your mail seems
to have no purpose other than winding them up. Or were you really
suggesting that Pam suggests to her non-programmer client that he learn
the .Net framework in order to update an essentially static website?
