That should as far as I know be illegal. But I didn't have an OEM disk,
i had an OEM install that came with the machine, which may be a little
different. So although I had a legitimate licence and I was running with
only a changed motherboard and processor but all the same storage media
I couldn't re-authenticate my copy of windows. And I did go through the
usual hoops to sort it out.

So it may be rubbish, but it is also my personal experience.
