Yes, one of my customers is trying them.
Their e-mails to me exhibited some lack of technical understanding, and
were rather full of almost-meaningless jargon. They might know what
they're doing, but a strong emphasis on meta tag keywords, keyword-stuffed
home page text, and repeat-submitting to search engines makes me think
they're not as useful as their charges suggest. So far, after a few months
of SEO, my customer isn't impressed, and promises to ask me before
spending money on such things in future :)
Part of the problem is that my customer has two distinct lines of
business, and the site is really two companion sites on the same domain.
FirstFound completely ignored this, pushing hard for "home page" changes
and ignoring my points about distinct "landing pages" for the two sides of
the business. All smacked of stock SEO suggestions, without any
flexibility for the type of site to be optimised.
Oh, and they wanted FTP access to the site's source code, and/or admin
permissions on any CMS...
More info off-list if required.
Cheers!
Anthony
