It's fairly straightforward to implement a one-off download link, but in
general attempts to prevent people copying digital content are doomed to
failure no matter how much money you throw at the problem, and by
and large inconvenience legitimate users and are easily circumvented
by the dishonest.

If your client is convinced that his content will have people reaching
for their credit cards [1] then you may want to look at short-run
and on-demand printing services; otherwise I reckon the most money
is probably to be had from making it freely available and plastering each
page with Google ads.


[1] Do ask your client how many ebooks *he* has bought recently.
