The frame will mean the URL never changes, so people won't be able to
bookmark forum messages, etc.
The links still point to forums.redmason.net, which you can see in some
browsers when they load, when hovering over them, etc. so the source isn't
actually hidden much.

No, it would have to be done server-side as the parts are on two different
servers. You might be able to use the main site server as a simple proxy
for the forum pages?
Another option might be to use a different hostname, in the same domain,
for the forum URL. For example:
http://forum.actonbusinessforum.net/
... which would resolve to the IP address of the server hosting
http://forums.redmason.net/ActonBusinessForum/, and then that server just
needs a suitable virtualhost defined to display the forum at that URL.
This would hide all references to redmason.net on the site, and would
leave everything frame-free and bookmarkable.
