If it's simple clean and to work with your own design you want, then I
would recommend taking a look at Pure Edit. www.pureedit.com
Lets you create tables quickly in MySQL and drop a little bit of PHP in
to your page to display the results and edit with a TinyMCE editor.
Documentation is scratchy at the moment, but it appears to be a laser
guided, nanotechnology nut cracker to crack a nut. Joomla, Drupal etc
are great but to continue my analogy are steam powered traction engine
pile drivers to crack a nut with.
