it's now IE8 standards mode *unless* you add a metatag to ask it to
render in IE7 mode...

my tests with the beta show it to break several perfectly good CSS
layouts, I think it's reading a hack for height and not behaving the
way IE6 used to...
(these are old layouts pre IE7 and my current use of CC's)
I don't have great expectations...
