I never understood the point in using templates like that.
Each time I build an ecom site I tend to do things like, in the case of
OSC, take out a ton of tables, un-required elements and end up
developing new contribs etc.
I then use this as a starting block for the next project and adapt as
needed.
I understand that this is, in effect, the same as using a template but
it's my own template that's been highly adapted and improved.

Each to their own I suppose.
