Hi James,

When I did it, I got funding from the Prince's Trust.
Your best source of information is your local Business Link.. if they
still are doing it, they had free 1 to 1 sessions with industry
specialists, who you can talk to in the strictest of confidence and
who will point you in the right direction.
Otherwise google around for business plan competitions and enter a
couple of those. Good excercise, and many have prizes from venture
capitalists or investers...
