No, *they* are dead and buried because asp.net is too complicated for *them*
to develop in. As Dai has pointed out, .asp support will get phased out.
Besides, AIUI asp.net is a web framework rather than a particular language;
it offers a whole slew of ready-written stuff ready to play with and a choice
of languages so you can wean yourself off stuff based on BASIC .
