Judging from the Amazon reviews of the Panasonic models I have been
looking at, the handsets tend to be interchangable within a "series",
but not beyond that.

problem for speed on most new computers is the rubbish that they come

It is only 1 row from a table myrow is being used on all the rows,

It may well be page files doing all this, but would be suspect if it does it
while doing nothing.
One thing you can try with Vista is using a ReadyBoost compatible USB Flash

When I was with Tiscali they would randomly block anything other than port
80 (http) at peak times.
I also found that packets would get corrupted when things got slightly busy.
