Any virus/etc scanners doing their business ?
Any updates getting installed ?
My wife hates it when she turns on the vista laptop to find it needs to
run updates and a scan, it takes ages sometimes. She keeps telling me to
put XP on it as she is fed up with popups every few mins saying
something has changed/happened/going to happen/might happen.
Task manager should show what's using cpu time which should help narrow
it down to what's causing the disc to run. Don't worry about memory
usage, that sounds fine to me.
