FN-FORUM: mac hard disc - data recovery / drive repair
date posted 23rd April 2008 13:53
like a fool, i have not backed up recently and my hard disc died in my G4 -
i have had it removed and placed into an enclosure and when my new (refurb)
g5 arrives,I am going to run some utilities to see if i can get some of my
data at least.
I shall principally be looking at data rescue as i have always had great
results with non-mountable drives, and I dont think there is anything
seriously damaged with the drive as it spins normally - no clicks or stuff
when the tech came round we tried mounting it on his laptop it generally
would not mount apart from on one ocassion, but then promptly disappeared -
but he was wiggling the connections a lot
does anyone have any recomendations for data recovery - i can also read mac
formatted discs on my windows as i have macdrive installed
failing that - can anyone recommend a service offfering this?
my vista hard drive is still raving away - god awful annoying
john
