FN-FORUM: File Syncing and backups
date posted 23rd April 2008 16:32
I want to subscribe to a hosted backup service and wondered if anyone
here could recommend a company.
Have tried 2 so far, both have failed miserably.
www.sugarsync.com
www.beinsync.com
Both resulted in not being able to work out whether something needed
syncing and as a result, have a directory that holds around 5k files
with duplicates of every single one.
Beinsync seemed to use every ounce of processing power when all was
fully synced and backed up. (i.e. in an idle state)
Sugarsync looks really nice, very easy to set up and use BUT i feel it
has been released 12 months too early. Still bug ridden and has some
basic features missing. e.g. once you add a computer to sync with, you
cannot remove it.
What i want is to have some folders backed up and others backed up AND
syncing with my partners laptop.
Any suggestions?
My next one is going to be ibackup.
