FN-FORUM: SEO company recommendation please

I have a client for whom I developed a site a couple of years back, who
now wants to use an SEO company to help with search engine placement.

Now, I'm happy developing sites and doing my best with regard to search
engines. But, SEO is (I believe) a very specialised skill. So, have
any of you had any good experiences with regard to SEO companies, which
you would happily recommend?

I am, otherwise, looking at PPC advertising on Google. Maybe a
combination of the two would be best?

This bit is a little new to me, so help would be appreciated.
