Thanks for the mention Dom. :)

I doubt it is a problem with the go daddy certificate itself, most
commercial Certificates these days should work in 99% of browsers. I =
suspect
the certificate simply hasn't been installed properly.

Some certificates are called linked or chained certificates (ones that
aren't issued by a root certificate authority) and require two =
certificates
to be installed. This may be the case here or it may be that your guy =
simply
hasn't installed it correctly (Or at all).

Buying a VeriSign cert will make absolutely no difference to the quality =
of
the certificate or the level of security it offers, you'll just be out =
of
pocket and your just paying for a name that=92s all.

We sell RapidSSL certificates for =A38 per year. They are single root =
issued
certificates so don=92t need a chain (Issued by the same root authority =
as
GeoTrust certs incidentally)

The only time I would say you might want to pay more that that is if you
want more TRUST. That is if you want to have for example a dynamic site =
seal
that gives the impression of more trust in the certificate or if you =
want
that lovely green address bar in IE (Called Extended Validation or EV) =
which
might give the impression of more trust for your visitor.
