Thanks for the responses, after posting I continued to do some reading and
believe your right, it's a value that paypal return, so feel a bit dopey
now, what I can I say it's Friday....oh no, it isn't d'oh

The token value is a unique ID to identify the transaction. It's created by
Paypal after you've sent them a request (either using the SDK or by
calling the server directly with HTTPS as far as I can see).
Perhaps if you tell us which method you're using and what platform you're
on then someone with specific experience can post a couple of lines of code
to show you how it's done.
