Martin Rait

Mobile app, web dev, designer and project manager

Currently on the hunt - have recent experience in mobile app dev (native and custim hybrid), along with solid web dev/design, print design, digital project management, ebook publishing and even print management experience - check out linkedin profile. Portfolio here needs big update - linkedin more relevant. Check out for personal company publications, apps and of course a more modern website (still a wip).

Written testimonial:
I have worked with Martin Rait for a number of years, firstly at Wellington City Council and then as a private contractor. Martin's skills and experience are second to none in graphic design and output for print and web and he was the go to man for problem solving in our business unit.
Martin is the most reliable staff member I have worked with and I continue to use his services for my personal work when ever I can. Although he now works for the private sector full time, we are in regular contact with him for project and problem solving work.

As part of my Post Graduate Marketing studies, I've established this site to publish the findings of the study group which I'm part of.
Not a fantastic site, since it was intended to be easy to use, and I didn't have the resource to invest into development.

FSpace Publications

This is my own company's website.
Built with many functions in mind, it runs on my own MacOS based G3 webserver, which hosts a number of other client sites.

Mindware Limited

Although the content of the site is not public, the site reflects the entire brand I developed for this company, which includes both electronic and paper based stationery elements.

Accent on Beauty

Undertook a webmarketing consultation about improving the following e-commerce site. Mocked up some improved content.
Unfortunately client was locked into their present vendor and it's e-commerce engine limitations, and was unprepared to outlay any further capital in acquring a better system.
You'll note the quality of the images is still poor. My higher quality replacement images (which were smaller in file size as well) were never used in the end.

State Insurance Limited

This was state's first venture in wholesale internet e-commerce. My role was similar to that of the State site. By coding the site instead of using outside vendors I saved the firm 75% and got the project under budget.
I later did a Marketing report for university on this site and it's success difficulties.

Bloodstockonline Limited

This site was based on freelance work I was commissioned to undertake to develop the creative and structure for this e-venture of SSL. They loved it so much, and it got such a good response that 6 months later they hired me full time to develop it further and work on some other projects.

Although my involvement ceased in late 99, this site still retains some of the core work. My involvement was Project Management, Design and Webmaster
