I'm familiar with the latest relevant technologies/concepts, e.g. full responsiveness, HTML5, jQuery, CSS3, Bootstrap, SVGs etc.; and also have a good grounding in SEO.

We needed a front-end web developer to produce web interfaces for our clients. As technical people our demands were high, not only did we need attractive mobile first designs we also wanted to be conforming to web standards, using the latest frameworks and to have structured maintainable front-end code. James has been superb, not only creating modern, aesthetically pleasing sites he has also pulled off some very tricky layout feats to keep our clients happy.
I particularly like the way James takes the time to listen and to understand the design requirements. And importantly for us he has always been willing to go that extra mile to ensure we meet our deadlines. I have no hesitation recommending James to anyone looking for a talented, reliable front-end developer.

After helping with some technical input in the website of our main business – The Ginger Pig – we asked James if he would create the website for our antiques business, based in Burford, Oxfordshire. Although I have been involved in the antiques business for over 40 years, it is a very different business now to back then, with people viewing images online on both traditional computers and the smaller devices. We are delighted how the new website looks and how easy it is to add and remove information and photographs as we wish. Many of our customers have offered most favourable comments and I know we have a hardcore of followers who will view the images 2 or 3 times a week.
I could not recommend James highly enough, he operates in a most professional manner.
A small React project that I designed and developed myself.
I was the sole developer (not designer) for this site for a high-end antiques shop. It consists of a from-scratch, responsive custom theme built into Drupal. There is some interesting jQuery code creating the section image menus, allowing for different aspect ratios in a responsive context, plus pagination. The project makes good use of the Drupal Boost module, allowing a graphic-heavy site (particularly the front page) to load rather quickly.

I was the front-end developer for this project. Working from the client's designs I built the site onto their bespoke PHP/SQL back-end. This was the first project where I opted to use SVGs in place of GIFs and PNGs, something that was quite uncommon at the time.

I developed the front-end for this onto the client's bespoke PHP backend. The relatively complex design required some thought to work responsively.

This was a responsive site I developed from the client's designs. It makes extensive use of SVGs, mainly as CSS background images.
