Elaine Draper

Little Green Box Design freelance graphic designer

Summary

With 19 years' experience as a graphic designer, I have recently decided to leave my job (graphic designer for Nottingham City Council) and take up freelancing to fit around my family life. I am skilled in InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop and QuarkXPress, and am also able to work in PowerPoint and Word. I've worked with a diverse range of subjects (from corporate reports to the Nottingham Riverside Festival) over the years, am skilled with corporate branding (creation and application), creative jobs, used to working under ridiculous deadlines, and have an ability to spot a rogue capital letter or apostrophe from 100 metres! I've covered all print mediums, from business cards to billboards, display materials to postcards.

Written testimonial:
I have known Elaine for over ten years during which time she has been involved in the design and production of resources that I have developed. Without the skill and dedication of Elaine I would never have been able to get my Personal, Health and Social Education resource for those on the autistic spectrum, marketed. I shall never forget how she approached me after a meeting we had both attended that had resulted in me thinking that I would never be able to get my ambitious programme developed into marketable format due to my limited knowledge of what was involved and lack of people interested enough to advise me. After the meeting, Elaine said to me simply, 'Your idea is great -I can do that for you'! True to her word, she worked tirelessly to design and package it in a way that was visually appealing to the service users for which it is intended and financially viable. It has continued to sell well since she completed the work in 2006 and I had no hesitation in commissioning Elaine again to help me to produce a further resource that I am currently developing. This is a sex and relationship programme that combines Power point presentations with paper based facilitator notes and service user worksheets and is once again of a highly visual nature. I am incredibly impressed with the work that Elaine has produced for it so far and have found her to be an experienced designer who is able to problem solve design difficulties extremely well and offer suggestions as to how best my resources might be produced and marketed. Elaine is highly personable and a delight to work with as her relaxed and positive personality never fails to put others at ease. I would recommend her services without hesitation!

Written testimonial:
Elaine is an extremely creative designer who works at speed but with a great attention to detail. She also knows corporate guidelines off the top of her head which is a huge help as it keeps the number of amends, and therefore cost, down to a minimum. She is extremely pleasant to work with and will always do her best to help in any situation. Highly recommended
