Written testimonial:
I contacted Richard when I suddenly needed an expert in .asp for an eCommerce website I was building. He had a uncannily instant appreciation of what I required, quickly suggesting alternative ways to achieve it. Ultimately (with my full encouragement), he went beyond his initial brief, providing a much more robust and complete solution than I'd considered.

Richard listens keenly, asks intelligent questions and is most amiable and fun to work with. He considers every aspect of his projects carefully and his broad knowledge of multiple technologies and eCommerce platforms is as impressive as it is reassuring.

I wholeheartedly recommend Richard for any development project.

Fully responsible for all technical aspects of the project. Described by sir Martin Narey as "the missing link for the residential childcare sector" and by the independent children's homes association as "setting a new gold standard for the industry", BERRI is a clinician developed set of online tools to monitor and improve outcomes in looked after children. Early data shows a 14% improvement in symptoms over six months of using the BERRI care pathway. Originally a paper-based form, requiring collation and analysis of numerous hard copies, the web-based BERRI has transformed the process, allowing clinicians caring for over 500 vulnerable children to fill in the forms quickly and conveniently wherever they are based. Comprehensive permission controls ensure that all users have access to only those records appropriate for their role, while allowing managers to see aggregated data and hard evidence of the effects of following the pathway. Technically, the new BERRI is a PHP application developed using the powerful Symfony 2 framework, backed by a MySQL database. Bootstrap and JQuery provide an elegant and responsive user experience. Application deployment is automatic and fast, ensuring that changes can be made safely and rapidly. Having already provided significant benefit to the client and users, the system continues to be supported and developed as new requirements surface.
